About BJIEP
Bulgarian Journal of International Economics and Politics is a biannual open-access academic journal published in English language by the University of National and World Economy. The Journal offers a forum for the publication of scientific articles, research papers, book reviews, and other forms of academic writings related to the complex and multifaceted issues of international economics and politics. Invited are authors at various stages of their academic career from renowned academics to young researchers, in the field of international economic and political relations and related topics at national, regional and global level. Given its interdisciplinary thematic scope, the Journal invites unpublished manuscripts on:
- Current global and international issues, trends and developments;
- Globalization and regionalization;
- International cooperation, institutions, organisations, regimes and global governance;
- Theory and history of international relations and of international political economy;
- World economy and international economic relations;
- International business;
- Issues of international security and conflict;
- European affairs;
- Area and regional studies (Central and Eastern Europe, Black Sea region, Western Balkans, Baltic region, Caucasus, Central Asia, Middle East, etc.);
- Foreign policy and foreign economic relations of Bulgaria and other countries.
The contributions could address theoretical or methodological issues or present results from empirical research in the described broad BJIEP field. A double-blind review process is employed to select the manuscripts that are to be published.
Bulgarian Journal of International Economics and Politics is an open access journal and its content can be freely accessed at the UNWE site. All Journal content is available for immediate free access — permitting any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purposes.
Articles in the Bulgarian Journal of International Economics and Politics are published under the terms of the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 International Public License.
The Journal addresses a wide-ranging profile of readers encompassing members of academia, students, as well as policy-makers and practitioners from national, European and international institutions, business representatives, and a larger interested audience.

Code of Ethics
The BJIEP Editorial Board subscribes to the principles of COPE – Committee on Publication Ethics (www.publicationethics.org) and advances policies of thorough, objective and fair peer-review and publication process.
BJIEP follows a double-blind peer-review process, whereby Authors do not know who are their Reviewers and vice versa. The authors are not charged with any fees for the acceptance, reviewing and publication of their manuscripts.
AUTHORS are required to:
- Submit for publication their original work;
- Sign a Declaration of Authenticity and Authorship and submit it with the manuscript;
- Submit manuscripts that have not been published elsewhere and are not submitted elsewhere for publication;
- Guarantee that the submitted work has not been published elsewhere — in whole or in part;
- Not offer for publication (in whole or in part) their texts accepted for publication or already published in BJIEP without the consent of the copyright holder (UNWE);
- Explicitly cite their own earlier work and ideas when they are quoted or paraphrased in the manuscript;
- Ensure that the text they submit is free of any plagiarism, falsification or incorrect usage of others' work;
- Respect the confidentiality of the peer-review process;
- Check their manuscripts for possible breaches of copyright law and secure the necessary permissions before submission;
- Avoid using biased language that could be interpreted as denigrating to ethnic or other groups;
- Be prompt with their manuscript revision and meet the deadlines set by the Editorial Board;
- Pay only if they order printed copies of the Journal (no submission, editorial or publication fees).
REVIEWERS are required to:
- Evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly and professionally;
- Avoid personal biases in their comments and judgments;
- Explain and support their scholarly judgments adequately;
- Respect the confidentiality of the review process;
- Avoid conflicts of interest throughout the review process and declare any conflicts of interest;
MEMBERS OF THE EDITORIAL BOARD are required to:
- Maintain their editorial independence;
- Judge manuscripts only on their scholarly merit;
- Avoid conflicts of interest throughout the review and publication process;
THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF cannot submit a manuscript for publication in the Journal.
